When I read this piece, I deeply resonated with your profound words: “Reinvention is about becoming a different person, to some degree, in the future. So our present self must take action on behalf of our future self. Simple enough.”
Having been living through my midlife changes and challenges, I took the liberty of rewriting this quote for myself. In my view, midlife is a time of reevaluation and reinvention — when I take inventory of my life in order to reinvent and become a different person in the future, by taking action toward that in the present.
This was a good read. I especially liked the out of character concept. I think personally I have thought of this like the "fake it till you make it" idea, but I like this phrasing better 🙂
